  4. Once it's half cooked, add the green chili (slice it as per your liking) add some salt and sweet soy sauce, stir fry to ensure the seasonings, green chili and Tempe are well combined.
  5. Add more water if you think it needs more time to cook and cover the pan.
  6. Once cooked, add the scallions that you have cut into big slices, stir fry for few seconds then remove from the stove.
  7. Your stir-fried Tempe is ready to be served. Enjoy!.

Tofu stir-fry: Replace the tempeh with the equivalent amount of extra-firm tofu. The food was actually very delicious, although we would like it to be spicier. Mix the spice-paste together with the water and slaked lime water. Add the rice flour and cornstarch and blend till smooth. Heat the oil in a wok, dip the tempe in the batter and deep-fry until it is golden brown and crisp.
